Space for Mothers Navigating Child Loss

Healing Mothers is a faith-centered space offering psychospiritual guidance, curated resources, and a compassionate community for women walking through the grief of losing a child.

Our Mission

Our mission is to create a safe and compassionate space for mothers grieving the loss of a child. We are here to remind every mother that she is not alone, and that grief does not diminish faith.

Through emotional support, shared stories, faith-centered reflection, and a nurturing community, we seek to help mothers navigate their pain, honor their children’s memories, and find strength, meaning, and mercy in their healing journey.

We invite mothers to connect beyond this page. You may join our private Facebook community, follow and listen to the Umm-e-Shahryar podcast, and participate in the Healing Program offered through our website, where we may gather weekly for guided reflection and support.

Healing Mothers is a supportive community space. It is not a substitute for professional therapy, medical care, or crisis intervention. If you are experiencing severe depression, persistent hopelessness, thoughts of self-harm, or any urgent mental health concerns, please seek immediate support from a licensed professional or local emergency services.

About Us

Healing Mothers came into being after the loss of my precious son, Shahryar Ahmed Ghaffar.

What followed was a journey through grief that touched every part of my being. I came to understand that loss is not only emotional. It is spiritual, physical, and deeply personal. In many spaces, mothers are expected to endure this pain quietly. But silence does not heal hearts.
This space was born from love. From longing. From du’a.
Healing Mothers exists so that no mother navigating child loss feels isolated or misunderstood. Here, grief is met with empathy. Emotions are respected. Memories are sacred.
Through faith-centered reflection, emotional education, shared stories, and compassionate community, we walk alongside mothers as they carry both love and loss. Healing is not rushed. Faith is not questioned. And remembrance is honored.
To honor my son and to support other mothers walking this path, I have taken the pen name Umm-e-Shahryar. Through it, I share my story, my pain, and my journey of searching for flickers of light in the darkest moments.
May this space be a source of strength, meaning, and mercy for every grieving mother who finds her way here, Ameen.

Islamic Reflections on Child Loss & Grief

Healing begins when hearts walk together.

You may volunteer your time in whatever capacity you feel called. Seasoned grieving mothers who feel emotionally ready are invited to gently walk alongside newly bereaved mothers. Others may serve by contributing to our podcast, offering faith-centered reflection, or supporting our online Facebook community.
